Wake Up Feeling Like Yourself Again
You cannot heal your mental health if you aren’t sleeping. As Double Board-Certified specialists in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine, we diagnose and treat the root causes of your exhaustion—from Insomnia to Sleep Apnea.
You Cannot Heal Your Mind If You Aren’t Sleeping.
We often treat sleep as a luxury, but it is the biological foundation of your mental health. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or focus issues (ADHD), poor sleep will make recovery almost impossible.
If you are waking up exhausted, fighting daytime fatigue, or dreading the bedroom because you can’t shut your mind off, you are not “lazy.” You may be suffering from a treatable Sleep Disorder.
At Zoe Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine, we don’t view sleep in isolation. We treat the whole person. Led by Double Board-Certified specialists serving Allen, Texas and Oklahoma City, we diagnose and treat the physical and mental root causes of your exhaustion.
The “Double Board-Certified” Difference
Most patients bounce between two doctors: a psychiatrist for their anxiety and a pulmonologist for their snoring. At Zoe Psychiatry, we are qualified to handle both.
Dr. Taiye Popoola is Board-Certified in General Psychiatry AND Sleep Medicine. This rare combination allows us to:
- Identify if your anxiety is causing your insomnia, or if your sleep apnea is causing your panic attacks.
- Prescribe medications that treat both your mood and your sleep safely.
- Avoid the “referral runaround.” You get comprehensive care under one roof.
Conditions We Treat
We provide medical diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of sleep disturbances in adults and adolescents.
- Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): More than just “loud snoring.” OSA is a serious medical condition where your airway collapses during sleep, cutting off oxygen and stressing your heart.
- Chronic Insomnia: The inability to fall asleep or stay asleep despite being tired. We treat both the behavioral habits and the chemical imbalances that keep you awake.
- Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS): An uncomfortable “creeping” or “itching” sensation in the legs that creates an uncontrollable urge to move, usually striking right at bedtime.
- Hypersomnia & Narcolepsy: If you sleep 8+ hours but still feel severe daytime sleepiness, we investigate neurological causes to help you stay awake and alert.
Diagnosis: Testing from the Comfort of Your Bed
Gone are the days when every patient had to sleep in a strange lab with wires attached to them. We prioritize your comfort.
Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT): We offer FDA-cleared testing devices that you can take home. You sleep in your own bed, follow simple instructions, and return the device. Our specialists analyze the data to determine if you have Sleep Apnea.
Note: For complex cases (like Narcolepsy or Seizures), we coordinate detailed in-lab Polysomnography (PSG) with trusted local sleep labs.
Treatment: More Than Just a CPAP Machine
Many sleep clinics offer only one solution. As medical doctors, we offer a full toolkit to help you rest.
- Medical Management: We prescribe safe, non-addictive medications to help regulate sleep cycles or manage conditions like RLS.
- Airway Therapy (CPAP): For Sleep Apnea, we guide you through Positive Airway Pressure therapy or refer you for specialized oral appliances.
- CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia): The clinical “Gold Standard” for treating insomnia without pills. We help you rewire your brain’s association with the bed.
Is This Covered by Insurance?
